Peter Gubinski Bio
I was first introduced to photography in junior high
school when I joined the photography club. Developing that first roll of film
and then watching the print appear and I was hooked.
I’ve been taking pictures ever since then. After college I set up a
darkroom and was doing B&W and Color processing. My mentor John, a fashion
photographer in New York taught me many things and helped me develop an eye for
photographs. When my son was born
that was the end of the darkroom. I focused on color slide work.
About 7 years ago I started doing digital work and have been doing it
ever since. In 2003 I started
showing my work and have won numerous awards.
I have been working in Lightroom recently and am amazed how
similar it is to working in the darkroom (minus the chemicals). The adventure
continues further.
